Tennis Australia (TA) welcomed members of the 2017 Pizzey Cup All Australian Tennis Team to the Australian Open on Monday, 22 January 2018.

After being presented on court and given the opportunity to show their talents the students attended a TA Performance Workshop delivered by Ben Robertson (National Wellbeing Manager) and Natalie Martin (National Education Manager) who spoke about the importance of player wellbeing off the court and the opportunities

which exist with US College pathways. The students were also privileged during the session to hear from Belinda Woodcock about her recent education and tennis journey at the University of Florida plus current Australian Federation Cup Captain Alicia Molik on her experiences as a star tennis player. The students were then able to watch some of the high class action at the Australian Open as well as being able to participate in a tour of the facilities at Melbourne Park.

School Sport Australia wishes to thank all the presenters and in particular express its gratitude to Ben Dew, Tennis Australia’s Schools Competition Coordinator for his outstanding efforts in organising the day.
