Applications invited from teachers for Assistant Coach position for 2019 International Girls Football Tour

School Sport Australia (SSA) is advertising for the position of Assistant Coach for the April 2019 SSA International Girls Football Tour to the United States in April. The duties of the Assistant Coach are:

  • Liaising with the Coach prior to the tournament (e.g. work with coach for player education on patterns of play, formations, set plays, drills, expectations whilst on tour etc.) to build the necessary collegiality and team organisation prior to departure.
  • Assist the coach in the preparation and delivery of the training sessions and match day planning.
  • Organise the team warm up and post-match recovery of players in cooperation with the coach.
  • Assist the coach in the implementation and review of a balanced training and match program for team players including the pre-tour camp and organisation.
  • Formulate and enforce team responsibilities, player welfare and discipline in conjunction with the Tour Leader, Team Manager and Coach.
  • Assist the coach during team matches with all matters of match organisation. Keep accurate records of match day plans and data, team line ups/substitutions and player game times.
  • Working with the Team Manager in maintaining playing and training equipment.
  • Liaise with the team trainer and coach on all matters of player welfare, injury management and recovery.
  • Working with all team management on the daily tour plan and schedule, including updates , timing, hosting arrangements etc each day.
