Vale Steven Landsberg

School Sport Australia expresses its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Steven Landsberg who recently passed away. Steven was devoted to School Sport, in particular, baseball. His commitment was recognised in 2019 when he was awarded Life Membership of Queensland Schools Baseball.

For over twenty years, Steven has been an official with Peninsula Regional teams in Queensland, across both age groups at Queensland School Sport State Championships. His coaching style provided his players the opportunity to participate at the highest level, whilst also developing and sustaining the sport for the long term. He has been a past Queensland School Sport official, touring as Assistant Coach with Under 15 teams. Steve has convened numerous Queensland School Sport Championships as well as the 2011 and 2017 School Sport Australia Championships held in Cairns. In recent years, Steven attended the School Sport Australia 18 Years & Under Baseball Championships as an umpire. He has been involved in every aspect of the sport at local, regional and state level – for both school and club.

The Board, management of School Sport Australia and National Baseball Advisor, Neil Barrowcliff, wish to pass on their condolences to Steven’s wife, Natalie and his son Parker.
