Newcastle Grammar School student Lorcan Redmond today won his fifth in a row Triathlon Championship at the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC). He came from over a minute behind after the cycle leg with a time of 15:47 for the 5 km run leg to win by 27 seconds over Lachlan Jones from Queensland with Charles Liebenberg from Queensland a further six seconds behind.
Lorcan won his first title at the 2014 Championships in Bendigo in the Junior Boys Age Group. This was followed by intermediate age group wins in 2015 at the SIRC and Hervey Bay, Queensland in 2016; and in 2017 he won his first senior title.
